Australian dies in Samoan tsunami
AN Australian woman has been killed and six other Australians are yet to be accounted for in Samoa following the earthquake and tsunami that hit the remote Pacific island.
Details of the disaster were still emerging at 2pm but the Department of Foreign Affairs said three other Australians were in hospital.
A Mackay man and his family managed to escape to safety on a hilltop.
