THE father of Australian suicide bomber Jake Bilardi - thought to have been killed last week in a suicide bombing attack -- says his son wanted attention and craved death.
Speaking to media for the first time since his son's reported death, John Bilardi said he took some responsibility for his son's death.
His son was reportedly part of a series of suicide bomb attacks in the city of Ramadi in Iraq that killed at least 17.
Mr Bilardi said his son was used as "a prize, a trophy".
"They used him for their own cause," he told 60 Minutes.
"He had a death wish."
