Aviation group's Rocky lease extended for 10 years

ROCKHAMPTON Regional Council has extended Pearce Aviation Ltd's airport lease for another decade.

Peace Aviation operates a flying school, charter service operations and charitable aerial chaplaincy in rural and remote areas, including Rockhampton.

According to documents presented at the general council meeting yesterday, the group is looking to expand their offerings to churches and counselling services.

However, they wanted to secure a long term lease before investing further in Rockhampton.

Valuations suggest the landside lease area is worth $8,620 per annum and the apron licence worth $6,615 per annum.

Council renewed the lease for 10 years, with an additional two five-year options.
