ROCKHAMPTON media were treated to an early morning hot air balloon ride on Friday, seeing the city from a birds-eye view.

The Air Force balloon, operated by Central Flying School, is currently touring the Wide Bay, Fraser Coast and Capricornia regions visiting schools and conducting free and tethered flights at selected towns and cities.

The Morning Bulletin photographer Allan Reinikka captured this footage from the skies in the RAAF hot air balloon.

RAAF balloon pilot squadron leader Damian Gilchrist took passengers on the tour.
