No excuses for not working out

A CHILDERS fitness trainer has spent the better part of the past year developing what she has called "excuse proof" workouts.

Leanne Shorter said the resistance-band workouts she has named Resist It were ideal for those new to exercising or for those reluctant to take it up.

"I've worked with all sorts of people, both here in Australia and overseas, working in gyms, doing personal training and leading group exercise classes, for people from all different walks of life," she said.

"Most people simply couldn't find exercises that could suit their individual needs, so that's where I came up with the idea for Resist It.

"Until now, exercise products have targeted young women trying to lose weight and men trying to buff up. I felt it was time for something different - workouts based on lifestyle rather than your age or gender."

Ms Shorter said the Resist It workouts could be modified to suit.

"The bands and workouts are very adaptable, which is why it would be hard, or even impossible, to come up with a decent excuse not to exercise," she said.
