Bankruptcies on the rise in Rockhampton

ROCKHAMPTON recorded a large spike in the number of business-related bankruptcies in the September quarter, according to the Australian Financial Security Authority.

Authority data shows a rise from 10 debtors in the June quarter to 19 in September.

There were also 53 non-business related bankruptcies in the quarter in the Rockhampton region.

The number of debtors who entered a business-related personal insolvency increased 14.6% across the state with Rockhampton, Gladstone and Biloela identified as major contributors.
