Barry's itching to get out on green

BARRY Mitchell is just one bowler itching to get out on the Victoria Park rinks on Saturday.

The club is holding a Mixed Triples Tournament and judging by the interest to date competition is going to be hot.

The club's Mixed Triples Tournament comes at a good time for Victoria Park as members are still celebrating the success of two of its number, Fred Carrington and Keith West, in the District Pairs Final recently.

Unfortunately due to the popularity of this event, the club has been forced to place a time limit on incoming nominations for Saturday's event and Mitchell said that is at 5pm today.

While Mitchell was out on the green practising with clubmates Jackie Bridges and Fred Passmore yesterday, they will need to have something left in reserve as it will be a long day of bowling.

Competition on Saturday will begin at 9am with each of the teams playing three games of 18 ends.
