Steve Baxter bags a Silver Logie nomination
FROM growing up in outback Central Queensland to lining up against some of Australia's most talented TV personalities in the running for one of Australia's most coveted awards, Steve Baxter has come a long way.
The former North Rockhampton High School student and entrepreneur, investor and 'Shark' on Network Ten's Shark Tank has been nominated to receive a TV Week Silver Logie in the category of 'Best New Talent' for the standout performance of a new talent on an Australian program televised in 2015.
Mr Baxter is in the race for votes against 31 other 58th TV Week Logie Awards nominees including the likes of Adam Dovile from Better Homes and Gardens, Pia Miller from Home and Away and Jonathon Brown from Friday Night Footy and On The Couch.
Renowned as one of Australia's most successful tech entrepreneurs and an active investor and mentor of start-ups, the 44-year-old multi-millionaire took on the opportunity of being one of the Shark Tank investors because he loves education budding entrepreneurs.
"I love the concept of what Shark Tank can do," Mr Baxter said.
"No-one dies wondering in front of me. I tell them what I think."
