ON MONDAY, Emily Brown stood in the corner of her bedroom and began to sing.

In less than two days, that song had changed her life.

The Yeppoon teenager is coming to terms with fame and success after the song she recorded with good friend and musician Bryce Morrice became an internet sensation.

Yesterday, Emily's song had soared to 51 on the iTunes chart.

Demi Lovato's Skyscraper was the track the 16-year-old Heights College student covered. She has been flooded with Facebook posts on how amazing her voice is.

Topping Adele and Demi Lovato's original song on the charts, what's most impressive is this was Emily's first recording.

"It's all happening so fast, I still can't believe it," the singer said. "It just went viral and I was getting calls from people telling me the song was in the Top 200 of iTunes."

Emily auditioned earlier in the year for The X-Factor and got through the first round, but was never called back. She was later given the lead role in the forthcoming production of Hairspray at the Pilbeam Theatre.

"I just want people to know that if I can do it anyone can, and the amount of support from the community that has got behind me has been amazing," she said.

Her mum, Tania, and her four younger siblings, are still shocked by the whirlwind but are dealing with it well.

"My two-year-old brother, Thomas, took the photo of me that's the single cover, so it's all been so crazy," she laughed.
