Ben 10's visit treat for kids

WEARING his Ben 10 T-shirt, little Xavier Draper gave a thumbs up to meeting his larger-than-life cartoon hero in Rockhampton yesterday.

The three-year-old and his mates were stoked to have Ben 10 visit Archer Street Child Care centre.

Other fans will have to wait until July to see their idol in the flesh when he returns to Rockhampton's Pilbeam Theatre.

“When I heard Ben 10 was coming I was so excited to meet him,” Xavier told The Morning Bulletin.

Plenty of high-fives and superhero moves were thrown around the room as Ben 10 greeted the three- and four-year-olds as part of the promotion for the Cartoon Network show that is returning to the city.

Public relations tour co-ordinator Ally Reynolds said the response from locals about the show had been overwhelming.

“It's really good for kids in regional areas like this, who don't get to see this kind of thing often,” Ally said.

“They get so excited about it.”

Ally said visiting each town with Ben 10 had got everyone excited for the live show.

“It's also great because the kids don't have to travel to the big cities to see these kinds of shows, so it's great that we can reach a wider audience.”

Xavier said he would definitely be asking his mum to see the Ben 10 show on the school holidays.

“I've seen his movies and I watch his show all the time, I'm very excited!”

“I love Ben 10, it's awesome!”
