Bicycle ride after cheap wine ends up before magistrate

RIDING off on a bicycle after a night drinking cheap wine proved costly for Liam Connor Barrett.

Police attended a disturbance on April 19 and were told a male had left on pushbike.

When stopped in Bolsover St, Barrett said he'd had a heap of cask wine (reading 0.101).

He pleaded guilty in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on May 8 to driving a vehicle other than a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.

Barrett was fined $500.
