Bid CEO arrives

FORMER North Queensland Cowboys boss Denis Keeffe has arrived in Rockhampton to take up his post as inaugural CEO of the CQ NRL Bid team.

Keeffe, who was in charge when the Cowboys made their only grand final appearance in 2005, arrived in the city on Monday.

Keeffe is currently working from JM Kelly headquarters on Richardson Road until arrangements are made to relocate to the former Brothers Leagues Club, now known as CQ Bid Leagues Club, on Lion Creek Road.

Yesterday Keeffe talked up CQ’s chances of winning an NRL licence and spoke of his confidence in the bid’s business plan.

Keeffe will address a media conference in Rockhampton today.
