MORE than 1000 people descended on Alan McIndoe Park in Emerald on Saturday evening for the Emerald Rural Weekly PBR.

Dark clouds gathered and a storm threatened the event early but there was to be no raining on this parade.

The bulls were rank and the cowboys keen, but no-one could match Cody Heffernan, who won the PBR on Chameleon.

When the dust settled, the party began, with more than half the spectators enjoying the after party entertainment by local girl Tameaka Powell, dancing the night away until midnight.
