Bike rider with serious facial injuries after highway stack
UPDATE 7AM: A QUEENSLAND Ambulance spokeswoman has confirmed a man aged in his 20s crashed on the Burnett Hwy near Mt Morgan this morning.
She said the man was riding with a group of cyclists when he fell off his bike near the intersection of Razorback Rd.
The man suffered facial injuries, a dislocated shoulder and back injuries.
He was transported to hospital in a stable condition.
BREAKING 6.30AM: A CENTRAL Queensland cyclist is in hospital this morning after a serious accident near Mt Morgan.
A Queensland Police spokesman said around 5.20am, a cyclist came off his bike on the Burnett Hwy, about 1km out of Mt Morgan, and suffered potentially serious injuries.
"He has suffered shoulder and head injuries and has been taken to Rockhampton Hospital," the spokesman said.
"He came off his bike. There were not other vehicles involved."
A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson said the cyclist was in a stable condition.
