Police speak on latest Yandina VLAD arrests

TWO more men have been arrested over an incident which saw five alleged outlaw bikies locked up for being together in public at a Yandina hotel.

A police statement this morning said continued investigation in regards to offences allegedly committed at Yandina in November 2013 have resulted in the arrests.

"Investigations identified two additional participants- believed to be fully patched members of the Queensland Chapter of the Rebels CMG- allegedly in attendance at the Yandina Hotel on November 1, 2013," the statement said.

"Earlier today detectives from the Sunshine Coast District and Task Force Maxima executed search warrants at North Arm and Yandina.

"These searches resulted in the location of CMG paraphernalia.

"Two men, a 50-year-old from North Arm and a 59-Year-old Yandina man are due to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court today charged with a participant in a criminal organisation being knowingly present in public places."

Detective Inspector Brendan Smith of Taskforce Maxima said the Queensland legislation was designed to prevent participants of criminal gangs from consorting.

"This assists to disrupt their planning and other unlawful activity. These investigations demonstrate the QPS commitment to disrupting the criminal activities of these gangs, with the goal of driving them from Queensland," he said.
