Hell's Angels bikies arrested during 'poker run'
DETECTIVES from Task force Maxima executed search warrants at residences in Logan Village, Crestmead and Woodridge.
Investigations into the 'Hells Angels "Good as Gold" poker run have lead Task force Maxima to conduct searches at the three properties today.
Police will allege these searches resulted in the location of criminal gang paraphernalia and documents clearly indicating that a resident at each property is a participant of the Hells Angels, two being patched members and the other a 'hang around'.
Two Harley Davidson motor cycles were also seized and are liable to forfeiture and crushing upon conviction.
As a result, two men were arrested and bailed to appear in the Southern Districts Magistrates Court next month.
A 56 year old male from Logan Village believed to be full patched member and Treasurer of the 'Hells Angels' Criminal Gang has been charged with one count each of participant in criminal organisation being knowingly present in public places and obstructing police.
A 52 year old male from Woodridge a participant of the 'Hells Angels' criminal gang has been charged with one count of participants in criminal organisation being knowingly present in public places.
Detective Inspector Brendan Smith of Taskforce Maxima said today's efforts send a message to criminal gangs that it is business as usual, if members commit offences we will investigate and prosecute.
"We will continue [to] use all lawful means to disrupt their activities in an effort to stop crime," he said.
Investigations are continuing and a further arrest is expected.
