Bligh announces tourism boost

BREAKING: Premier Anna Bligh today announced a $16.5 million boost to regional tourism, including $4.5 million to undertake a major refurbishment of the Australian Workers Heritage Centre in Barcaldine, the birthplace of the Labor Party.

Ms Bligh made the announcement and signed a workers' rights charter at the centre, which is one of Western Queensland's key tourist attractions.

She is expected to arrive in Rockhampton this afternoon.
