THE chairmen of the board have made their decision ... life's a beach!

The sun had barely risen yesterday but more than 120 surfers in 28 teams had already gathered at the Kawana Surf Life Saving Club for the annual Board Meeting Corporate Teams Surf Challenge charity event.

And the winners were a group of special needs children who will benefit from the funds raised.

Men and women of all ages from the Coast's business community ditched their shirts and ties, or power sleeves and skirts, and hit the waves to raise money to help youngsters who have slipped through the cracks when it comes to receiving government support.

Organisers said the judges were happy to accept bribes and the scoring was at best "a bit loose", but by the end of the day $31,000 had been raised.
