IT'S NOT every day a celebrity is spotted in a Rockhampton girl's workout apparel range.

So when Boombox Apparel owner Megan Hawley saw Australian actress Jess Marais, well known for her roles in Packed to the Rafters and Love Child, sporting one of her bright pink retrofit tanks while working out in December's edition of Who Magazine, she couldn't believe her eyes.

"One of my friends who had bought one of the shirts off me is actually friends with Jess and her husband and she said to me that Jess works out a lot and suggested I send one to her," Megan said.

"Jess wanted a hot pink one so I sent it to her and I also sent a little note telling her that I was trying to empower women to better their lifestyle.

"I was at the gym yesterday in a workout and someone sent me a photo and said that it was in Who Magazine."

Megan, who is a local personal trainer, said she started producing the clothing range to motivate and boost the confidence of women while working out.

"My singlets are for women of all sizes. I want every person that wears one to feel a little more confident," Megan said.

"When I first started to lose weight myself I was 94kg and I could never find any workout gear that fit me and when I could find some I would always be pulling at it and worried that things were falling out.

"After I lost all the weight (more than 30kg) I remembered how bad it felt not to have anything to wear and decided to make my own so I could make sure people from small sizes, right up to XXL had workout gear that was cool and also affordable."
