Botanic Gardens open day set for family fun

IF you're looking for some family fun this weekend, head to the Rockhampton Botanic Gardens open day on Sunday.

There's plenty for the kids to do, including face painting, games and a treasure hunt.

Councillor Cherie Rutherford said there will be all-day activities and great prizes up for grabs, along with markets stalls, entertainment and Devonshire Tea.

"We've invited community groups such as Taichi-Qigong, yoga groups and musicians along as well so they can share their special talents with our whole community - there'll be something for everyone," Cr Rutherford said.

"I'm really encouraging everyone to come along, get involved in the fun activities and enjoy our beautiful gardens - you might even learn something new."

The open day runs from 10am-3.30pm on Sunday.
