Bowls club robbed by knife bandit

A MAN in a balaclava and brandishing a knife robbed the North Rockhampton Bowls Club last night at 6pm.

He demanded money from the bartender before fleeing with a sum of money.

He was seen leaving in a green van along Glenmore Rd and police were searching for him overnight.

He was described as being of slim build, Caucasian, 175cm tall wearing an orange T-shirt and black pants, aged from 20 to 40.

CCTV footage captured the thief on camera and it is unknown if there were accomplices.

Police are still investigating whether the incident is related to an armed hold-up at Raffles Hotel on Saturday night.
