Boy clipped by car's mirror

A TEENAGE boy was rushed to hospital yesterday after being struck by a car’s side mirror as he walked along Knutsford Street in Rockhampton about 9.45am.

Police interviewed the driver of the white van at the scene just after an ambulance took the boy away.

Early investigations revealed the mirror struck the 14-year-old under his right arm.

A police spokesman said the teenager was thought to have been going fishing at the time and was walking with two other people.

He was still conscious when taken to hospital and believed to have sustained a cut under his arm as a result of the incident, which happened near the intersection with North Street.

Police are still investigating.
