UPDATE: Teenager crashes into tree on the Capricorn Hwy

UPDATE: A young man has been taken to Emerald Hospital in a stable condition after crashing into a tree early this morning. 

A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said the teenager was complaining of back pain and other minor injuries.   

INITIAL: A teenager has crashed into a tree on the Capricorn Highway hear the Gemfields.

A statement from Queensland ambulance said "paramedics are on scene at reported single-vehicle into tree incident on Capricorn Hwy and Anakie Sapphire Road at 5.56am."

Queensland Ambulance confirmed a male in his late teens is currently being treated.
