UPDATE: 2.56pm: 

PARAMEDICS have taken a driver who was trapped in a truck for about an hour this afternoon to hospital.

A member of the public who had pulled over stayed with the truck driver, a man in his 60s, throughout the duration of the rescue.

Firefighter used the jaws of life and then used a hydraulic jack to rescue the man.

It's understood he isn't too seriously injured.

But due to the nature of the crash, he wasn't able to free himself from the cabin as it was crushed.

A TRUCK driver who has been trapped in a truck for about an hour has been freed.

But the condition of the driver remains unknown.

Firefighter initially used the jaws of life to free the driver but then resorted to a hydraulic jack to open the crumpled roof.

A DRIVER remains trapped in a truck with a crushed cabin.

The driver's head appears to be wedged underneath a crumpled roof.

Firefighters have been using the jaws of life to free the driver but now appear to be using a hydraulic jack to stretch open the roof.

The condition of the truck driver is unknown at this stage.

A TRUCK driver is trapped in a truck that has a crushed front cabin.

The truck is off the road after it appears to have run down a steep but small embankment.

A paramedic is on top of the front dash treating the patient.

Two firefighter units and four paramedics units on the scene.

There is also a woman who appears to be comforting the truck driver, whose leg appears to be out the door.

EARLIER: 

IT'S understood one driver is trapped in a truck after it rolled on the Gladstone-Benaraby Road at Boyne-Tannum roundabout.

Paramedics are rushing to the scene after receiving the call shortly before 1.30pm.

It's understood one of the overtaking lanes is blocked, but traffic is still flowing in both directions. 

Police are also heading to the scene, and it's understood fire fighters are also on their way to the scene.
