Brisbane pair facing 190 charges

A BRISBANE couple is accused of a drug-fuelled crime spree in which they allegedly stole from homes in Rockhampton, Yeppoon and Emu Park.

Harriet Barbara Hopkins, 22, appeared in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on Friday charged with 110 offences.

Her partner Faron Wilkie, 29, was unable to appear in court as he was under police guard in Rockhampton Hospital for treatment for a medical condition.

He faces up to 80 charges.

The pair's charges relate to drugs, fraud, breaking and entering numerous homes, stealing, and receiving stolen goods.

Police will allege the pair committed most of their offences in Brisbane before travelling to Rockhampton about a month ago.

They were arrested here on Wednesday night after allegedly racking up $1200 in debts on two credit cards stolen from a Lanarch St home, in Emu Park, on Monday night.

They are accused of making more than 10 fraudulent purchases in different Rockhampton stores.

Hopkins was remanded in custody after Magistrate Tom Bradshaw adjourned her case until August 12.

The court heard Wilkie must appear in Beenleigh Court, in Brisbane, on August 9 for drug-related charges before returning to Rockhampton Magistrates Court.
