Broncos' Andrew McCullough warns of Panthers

RETURNING Broncos hooker Andrew McCullough has no doubt the Panthers outfit is the dark horse of this year's competition.

The two sides will meet in Penrith tonight, and McCullough will face a stern challenge in his first game in a month after recovering from a knee injury.

"They are a quality team and they have recruited well over the off-season," McCullough said.

"No one is really talking about them so they are a bit of a dark horse at the moment."

McCullough's opposite - the livewire James Segeyaro - will be one of the danger men for the Panthers.

After excelling as an impact player - he scored three tries against the Broncos off the bench last year - Segeyaro has assumed a starting role.

"Full credit to him. He is performing well at the moment and is one of the reasons they are going so well," McCullough said.

The Broncos are hopeful of getting all four Maroons representative back for this game, with only Matt Gillett (ankle) in doubt.

After two weeks on the road, the Panthers will be keen to return home where they have only lost one game this year.

Ivan Cleary's men posted a solid win over Wests Tigers last weekend, edging out Manly for the top-of-the-table spot at the time.

The Broncos have had two weeks off to think about their disappointing loss to the Sharks at home.

Cleary has kept Tyrone Peachey at five-eighth for injured captain Peter Wallace.
