Brothers chase second win of the season today

HEADING into to today's round 6 Capricorn Challenge cricket match at the Rockhampton Cricket Grounds, Rockhampton Brothers meet Gladstone's Yaralla.

And they are hoping to claim their second win of the tournament against bottom placed Yaralla.

With only one round to go after this game and then the finals, Brothers captain Tim Reid (pictured) is realistic about the possibility of a finals berth.

"Only the top two teams go through to the final," Reid explained.

"And that won't be us. But we are still keen to post some wins and finish the challenge strongly.

"I'm not sure what Yaralla will bring to the game, I don't know their team, but we are missing two key players injured and that could hurt us."

Both Ritchie Pershouse and Adrian Reck are unavailable for Brothers. Nathan Way comes in for Pershouse, while Brothers are hoping they might have unearthed some talent in their replacement for Reck.

"Young Connor comes into the team and he could do well," Reid said.

"He seems a solid batsman."

Reid is adamant he will bat first if he wins the toss and it will be "the usual flat track".

"It's a hard deck and great for batting."

He'll then turn to his two strike medium pacers, Kade Horan and Reece Williams, to clean up the visitors.
