Brumbies on last crusade to win home semi-final

THE six teams that will compete in next weekend's Super Rugby finals might be decided, but the Brumbies will have plenty to play for against the Crusaders on Saturday.

A win, and the Brumbies could enjoy a week off and host a semi-final, but a loss could see them forced to travel to South Africa for a sudden-death final.

The ACT outfit will have to contend with this weekend's fixture in Can

berra being the last for Crusaders legends Richie McCaw (pictured) and Dan Carter.

The pair, with 240 All Blacks caps between them, has played in more than 260 Super Rugby games. Carter is off to France to play after this year's World Cup in England and Wales, while McCaw is expected to either retire or also play overseas.

Brumbies coach Stephen Larkham said his players would not make the mistake of focussing on just Carter or McCaw. He also said five-eighth Matt Toomua and back Henry Speight were battling ankle injuries.
