Bulldogs fan has finals fever
MATT and Marcel Doyle are Bulldog's fanatics and have $3000 of Bulldogs merchandise to prove it.
The latest addition to Matt's collection are personalised number plates, given to him as a present from his wife.
"It was a nice gift from her, especially considering she doesn't follow footy herself," Matt said yesterday, just days out from the NRL Grand final between the Doggies and the Melbourne Storm.
"I've only just received them this week so it's perfect timing and hopefully a good sign," the Rockhampton man said.
The devoted fan has followed the club since he was seven years old - the same age as his son Marcel who has also developed a strong interest in the team.
The pair is waiting in anticipation for the final showdown on Sunday.
"It's going to be a good one, and close too, I think," he said. "I think we will definitely have our work cut out for us, it's clear Slater is back on form so that'll be tough. But my hope is we can win by 10."
Matt will be taking his wife away on a trip this weekend to celebrate their anniversary, meaning he won't be able to make it to ANZ Stadium on Sunday. "I sort of think I got married at the wrong time," he joked.
