Hoon busted after posting burnout pics to Facebook

A FACEBOOK post led to a 24-year-old Tara man's mad burnouts making their way onto the mobile phones of police officers.

The man was spinning his wheels about 6pm on October 16 when neighbours reported him, but he was gone before police arrived.

The officers observed the marks on the road and returned to the station.

Hours later, a tip-off from the public invited the police to check out the suspect's Facebook account.

Unfortunately for him, he had no privacy settings, and police were able to download the video of his 1986 Brumby ute spinning its wheels on Timothy Rd.

"You could clearly see his face, and the street sign in the background was just perfect," Constable Justin Drier said.

"We went around the next day and he admitted everything - no problem."

The Tara man will face Dalby Magistrates Court and lose his car for 90 days.
