Busby Marou's on-air performance

PERFORMING with just acoustic guitars on triple j breakfast radio was like the good old days at Rockhampton's Oxford Hotel for Busby Marou.

The Rocky duo appeared on the national youth radio station's segment, Like a Version with Tom and Alex, yesterday for Naidoc Week, performing their hit Biding My Time, along with an acoustic cover of “queen of pop” Cindi Lauper's Girls Just Want to Have Fun.

And my oh my, what a performance!

It was just a little taste of what Rocky fans can expect on Sunday night when Busby Marou perform at the Pilbeam Theatre with Brisbane's Halfway and New Zealand's Avalanche City.

Text messages flowed during the popular radio show and the band's social networking sites exploded with positive comments about the set, and demands for the band to tour to their towns.

Speaking to the Bully yesterday afternoon while on their way to perform on the Gold Coast, Jeremy Marou said he and Tom Busby were “on a big high from it all.”

“We played the first song and the phone was going crazy,” he said. “A lot you could tell were from Rocky people; a lot of them were saying ‘I'm so proud!'”

Talented guitarist Jeremy got to show the nation what his fingers can do as he ripped out some solos during both songs, and the band's trademark harmonies were beautifully sung.

Busby Marou have been nominated for two Queensland Music Awards.
