Man who 'sprayed woman with petrol' charged

A 44-YEAR-OLD man has been charged after he sprayed a woman with petrol and threatened to set her alight before he allegedly struck her over the head with a bottle.

Police say they have charged the man following a series of incidents at a Caboolture residence over the past eight months.

It will be alleged on Tuesday a 44-year-old woman was struck over the head with the glass bottle during an altercation around 5pm on Tuesday.

The woman sustained bruising and swelling to her head.

It follows another incident at the same location earlier this year in which the same woman was assaulted.

It will also be alleged the man assaulted a 57-year-old man at the same Miles Street address on September 10. The man sustained a broken rib as a result of the incident.

All three people are known to each other.

A 44-year-old Caboolture man has been charged with one count each of torture and serious assault with intent to commit grievous bodily harm and three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm.

He is currently remanded in custody.

The case was adjourned for Thursday December 10 at the Caboolture Magistrates Court.
