Caitlyn Shadbolt's nerves resurface on X Factor return

GYMPIE singer Caitlyn Shadbolt was back home yesterday after a couple of eventful weeks in Sydney, including an emotional return to TV series X Factor.

The singer joined Taylor Henderson, a fellow X Factor contestant from last year's season, on a visit to X Factor headquarters as guests for Tuesday's elimination night.

"It was so weird," Caitlyn said. "It brought back so many memories."

Both former contestants fought hard to banish the nerves.

"I had to remind myself there was no pressure," Caitlyn said.

"I was so used to having nerves."

The whirlwind Sydney visit was also an opportunity for Caitlyn to continue working on her next batch of songs for a full-length album to be released around September next year.

The album will be the follow-up to the singer's current self-titled EP, led by hit single Shoot Out The Lights.

Caitlyn also dropped news yesterday of her second single to be lifted from the EP.

The follow-up single will be the track, Pushing Through, and with a first edit of the music video freshly cut, fans will be able to watch the finished product within the month.

Caitlyn's trademark work ethic is showing no signs of waning with the singer performing at Australia Zoo today.
