Call for more volunteers at this year's Beef Australia

ERGON Energy is looking for volunteers for this year's Beef Australia event.

Ergon is encouraging community members to help out with tasks such as tour guiding, data entry, international liaison, linguistics, driving or even general handyman jobs.

Beef Australia CEO Denis Cox said volunteers were vital to the success of the event.

"We really do appreciate the time and effort given by our volunteers. They are an important part of Beef Australia and without our volunteers, many of the programmed events simply could not happen," he said.

Ergon's Steve Leighton said it was a chance for the community to focus on enjoying itself after the adversity of Cyclone Marcia.

"We all witnessed during Marcia the vital role volunteers play in the community and this is another opportunity for the community to show its true community spirit, this time in less dire circumstances," he said.
