Callous thieves steal monkeys from wildlife park

THREE monkeys - including a four-week-old baby that needs to be reunited with its mother to be fed - have been stolen from a wildlife park.

Staff at Symbio Wildlife Park, south of Sydney discovered the animals missing from their enclosure this morning.

The adult male, female juvenile and month old Pygmy Marmoset monkeys were taken after entry was forced.

The youngest monkey is at a "particularly fragile age" and needs to be with its mother to be fed.

Police are now appealing for public assistance to help find the animals and are conducting an investigation into the theft.
