WEEK two of the Junior Touch Rugby League (TRL) competition came with a big surprise for the 170-plus children who came to McLeod Park for their games last night.

Waiting for them was NRL star Cameron Munster.

The in-form Melbourne Storm fullback signed autographs and took photos with his delighted fans.

Junior TRL co-ordinator Walson Carlos said Munster's visit was very popular with the young players and also their parents.

"Cameron is a wonderful example of a local boy who has worked very hard to follow his dreams," Carlos said.

"Cameron came through the Intrust Super Cup system and has gone from strength to strength in the NRL. It's great that he has remained humble and hasn't forgotten where it all started."

The talent on show at the Junior TRL games would surely have impressed Munster, who played a lot of touch footy and cricket growing up in Rockhampton.

In the round two under 8s action the Raging Bulls and Footyroos scored impressive wins which set up an exciting round three clash between the two teams next week.

A standout player in the under 8s was young Lockyer Hill, who plays for the All Stars team.

The All Stars is made up of a lot of six-year-olds and they are developing a strong side for the future.

In the under 10s fixtures, Kiana Hare got her second try in as many weeks and led the Terrifying Ruthless Leaguers to their first win of the season over the TRL Tigers.

And The Young Stars remained undefeated with a 3-1 victory over the TRL Cowboys.

The Fast and Furious team, led by Darcy Biles, looks like the side to beat in the under 12s competition after securing their second win in as many weeks against the Bala Rangers.

In the other under 12s match the Norths Knights All Stars won 4-2 over the TRL Roosters in a game that went down to the final siren.

In the under 14s action, North Rocky High Two, Kiss My Pass and RGS Bush Kids all secured wins.
