Team McMillan to host a wellbeing workshop next month

TEAM McMillan will host a Community Health and Wellbeing Workshop on February 4 to discuss the Rockhampton region's "most pressing community priorities".

The workshop aims to bring together people working in the fields of domestic and family violence, drug and alcohol abuse, youth employment, homelessness and public safety to discuss the issues.

Division 1 candidate Catherine George said she received "an overwhelming response" to hosting the workshop.

She said it would discuss how to avoid service duplication and create positive dialogue between agencies.

"It is hoped that these discussions will also work to define the most appropriate allocation of council resources and social policy priorities, determining the nature of proposed investments and where this allocation will have the most influence and greatest impact," Ms George said.
