Cap Coast mourns loss of artist

4.20pm: THE Capricorn Coast community is today mourning the loss of talented local artist Peter Indans.

The 63-year-old German-born artist passed away last night.

Members of the Capricorn Coast art fraternity have described the loss as “devastating for the art world”.

An accomplished artist, Peter studied under Karlis Mednis in Melbourne between 1960 and 1964, and also trained as a secondary art teacher, as well as obtaining a secondary teaching certificate.

He had held solo exhibitions at the Princess Hill Gallery, Eltham and the Bridge Gallery, Warrandyte.

Peter was employed as a lecturer by the Central Queensland Institute of TAFE.
