Annual Capricorn Coast Running Festival is almost here

DUST off your runners and start practising your finish-line pose, the annual Capricorn Coast Running Festival is almost here.

Runners and walker from across the region will pound the pavement on the Capricorn Coast this Sunday in aid of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation as the annual CQPhysio Group Capricorn Coast Running Festival gets under way.

CCRF organiser Sean Peckover said participation numbers were already up by 300 competitors compared to last year's event.

"The half-marathon event is sold out at the moment with 150 people and we're on track to have over 650 people in the five-kilometre run," Sean said.

"We also have 450 people entered in the 10km run and about 100 combined for the mile bolt and kids dash events."

To register to run, head to the James Lawrence Pavilion at the Rockhampton Showgrounds between 3pm-7pm today, the LSC Community Centre in Yeppoon between 9.30am-1pm tomorrow or register on the day.
