Captive girl bore stepdad nine children

A WOMAN has told of her horrifying ordeal at the hands of her stepfather, who allegedly kidnapped her at the age of 12 and forced her to "marry" him.

Rosalynn Michelle McGinnis, now 33, has told the FBI that Henri Michele Piette kept her prisoner for 19 years, during which time she bore him nine children.

Piette, 62, was arrested last week in Mexico, more than a year after his former stepdaughter finally managed to escape their rural home.

Ms McGinnis has told investigators she met Piette when she was around 10 years old when her mother began a relationship with him.

By the time she was 11, Piette had starting raping her at their home in Wagoner, Oklahoma.

Ms McGinnis told authorities that when she was 11, Piette asked his son to perform a marriage ceremony inside a van.

Piette's son confirmed the story to investigators and said the "ceremony" consisted of him asking if Piette and Ms McGinnis took each other in marriage.

Ms McGinnis said that her mother tried to flee from Piette after he allegedly beat her up, taking her and her brothers to live with their grandmother in Missouri.

However, Piette was able to track them down and brought them back to Oklahoma, where they lived in a tent near Gore, Oklahoma.

Ms McGinnis said her mother attempted to get away from Piette a second time, taking the children to a local women's shelter.

When McGinnis was 12, Piette reportedly picked her up from school and held her against her will for the next 19 years.

During that time, Piette, Ms McGinnis, and Piette's other three children, moved around throughout Oklahoma and Mexico to avoid authorities.

She said she was beaten and repeatedly sexually assaulted multiple times a day almost every day she was held captive.

In June 2016, Ms McGinnis launched a daring escape plan, taking eight of her nine children to the US Embassy to obtain passports to they could enter the US.

According to People magazine, Ms McGinnis's eldest son had run away before her escape; however, they have since been reunited.

Once she and her children made it back to America, Ms McGinnis alerted federal authorities and told them her horrifying story.

Federal officials interviewed Piette's older children who confirmed they had witnessed him sexually abuse Ms McGinnis.

Authorities were finally able to track Piette down in September 2017 when he visited the US. Embassy in Mexico City attempted to obtain a US passport.

He was arrested last week and has since been returned to Oklahoma to face charges for rape, lewd molestation, and physical abuse of a child.

According to court documents, officials believe Piette "has deep ties to criminal organisations in Mexico" and had issued death threats to those whom he believed had helped Ms McGinnis escape.

"My children and I suffer daily as a result of this predator's abuse," she told People.

"Now, we look forward to continuing our new-found life of freedom and moving forward, having a lifetime of happiness and success."
