Car crash left 942 without power

A CAR hitting a power pole was the cause of a power outage which affected more than 900 North Rockhampton residents this week.

The disruption to Koongal residents came after a vehicle hit a power pole stay wire on Thozet Rd about 11.40pm on Monday.

Corporate communications manager for Ergon Energy Bob Pleash said the outage effected 942 customers initially.

"The majority were reinstated within an hour but some were without power until about 3am while Ergon repaired the damage," he said.
