Car crashes in front of police

A MAN who crashed his car in front of an oncoming Rockhampton Police patrol vehicle was arrested for high-range drink-driving.

Police said they were patrolling south along Berserker St on Monday about 1am when the white sedan plunged out of a side street about 30m in front of them.

The 30-year-old male driver allegedly lost control of the car and it mounted the footpath, coming to a halt when it crashed into the front fence of a house.

Police said they arrested the driver at the scene of the accident and he was later charged.

He is to appear in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on December 12.
