Carla destined to arrange blooms

WITH a creative passion for floral arranging it was only fitting for Carla Nunn to own her own florist and gift shop.

In 2007, she bought Kitty-May's Florist and Gift Shop and has devoted many hours to creating some of the most exquisite floral arrangements for a variety of occasions.

“I had always been interested in arranging flowers and I am continually learning something new from the conferences and workshops that I regularly attend and from the wonderful florists I employ,” Carla said.

“My mother-in-law is a florist and I had worked with her a few years ago, but my career went in a different direction until I had the opportunity to own my own florist business.”

Carla and her staff at Kitty May's Florist and Gift Shop pride themselves on quality workmanship to creating the ideal arrangement to suit your special occasion.

“I have wonderful staff working with me and we all enjoy what we do,” she said.

“I think it shows in the work that we produce and the continual loyalty from our customers.”

In the spirit of Pink Ribbon Day, Carla said, the day reminded everyone to keep their regular check-ups because early detection had its benefits.

“My mother-in-law has had breast cancer and what I have learnt from this experience is to be positive and laugh a lot - it really is the best medicine,” she said.
