Carter confident Bligh to help

MAYOR Brad Carter described his meeting with Queensland Premier Anna Bligh to discuss the region’s infrastructure priorities last week as extremely positive and constructive.

He said a senior government officer had been appointed to work across all state agencies on Rockhampton’s requirements for increased storages on the Fitzroy, a by-pass and third bridge, and access to land for industrial development.

Despite not returning with $100 million, Cr Carter said he was confident the Government wanted to deliver on these priorities.
