Cassey and Mark run to find cure for neurological disease

CASSEY and Mark Thew we're sure they'd be able to raise $8000, let alone more than $10,000. 

But that's the amount the Rockhampton couple have raised in the lead-up to the Gold Coast Airport Marathon on July 5. 

The pair will run in the marathon and half-marathon to raise awareness for Multiple System Atrophathy, an aggressive neurological condition Mark's father, John, died from last year.

"I'd been lying if I said it was the easiest thing we'd both attempted," Mark said.  

"No matter how much pain you feel, it's nothing compared to what he had to go with on a day-to-day basis just to try and do simple things."
