Cause of fatal crash at Emu Park still a mystery

POLICE are still trying to piece together what led to the fatal traffic crash in Emu Park on Wednesday night.

There were no witnesses to the high speed crash, which saw a Holden station wagon leave Tanby Rd and slam into a tree just before 10pm.

The family of the local man has been notified, but his name has not been released.

The 33-year-old was driving a few kilometres from the Kinka Beach Rd intersection towards Yeppoon when the accident occurred.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident was the second fatality in two days after another crash in Biloela on Tuesday night.
