Ceinwen is on top of world at Ballarat masters

CEINWEN Fay is rolling in gold after delivering a double whammy at the World Rowing Masters Regatta in Ballarat at the weekend.

The Rockhampton Fitzroy Rowing Club member dominated the master's women's division to clinch gold in the Women's Double and Single Scull races before combining with other Rocky teammates to pick up another two medals.

Fay wasn't the only Fitzroy Rowing Club individual member to taste success at the international event with Adrienne Wall picking up bronze in the Women's C Single Scull.

Team efforts were the theme of the competition with Rockhampton's Robyn Donovan and Julie James combining to finish second in the Women's E Double Scull while the Rocky Women's C Eight Sweep crew of Sarah Byrne (cox) Kim Byrne, Wall, Fay, Ruth Cunnold, Angela Richardson, Edwina Kleidon, Shelley Chisholm and Kate Wilson placed third by just 0.03s.

In the Women's C Quad, Richardson, Fay, Kleidon and Chisholm placed third while the Women's Four team of Kim Byrne, Sarah Byrne, Wall, Cunnold and Wilson managed to finish fourth despite having a vandalised and duct taped boat.

The Mixed C Quad of Wall, Mark Wyer, Jon Wall and Kim Byrne also finished on the podium with a third placing.\
