Central Queensland Councils unite for meeting at Yeppoon

THE Central Queensland Regional Organisation of Councils (CQ ROC) will meet at Yeppoon Town Hall this Friday with a packed agenda which will include major regional infrastructure, agribusiness, the Northern Australian Plan, Regional Leadership and Collaboration and the Digital Revolution.

Councillor and staff representatives from Rockhampton, Gladstone, the Central Highlands, Banana Shire, Woorabinda and Livingstone will gather, along with State and Federal politicians and representatives from State and Federal government agencies, industry and tourism organisations.

The chair of CQROC, Mayor of Banana Shire Ron Carige, said the CQ ROC Conference was a great chance for councils across Central Queensland to discuss strategies to address challenges and opportunities across the region.

"This is about councils working together to deliver a brighter future for all of Central Queensland by driving economic growth and creating jobs," Mayor Carige said.

"The conference will hear from guest speakers on a range of topics, including local government reform, regional leadership and collaboration, the role CQ can play in the Northern Australia Plan and the opportunities presented by the Digital Revolution."
