Chance for talent to be Discovered

WHEN Sophie Rose sings, she sings from the heart.

Only 14, the budding musician and songwriter has already recorded her own track, and performed on stage around Queensland.

And Wednesday was no different, when she belted out some soulful melodies at the auditions for the Discovered talent show at the Rockhampton Showgrounds.

A new event for the Rockhampton Show, the search could help talented people on their way to a career, or even stardom.

Many lined up to perform their routine – dancers, singers, ballerinas and even a band.

Sophie said she'd been singing ever since she could talk.

“Music is a big part of my life, it has got me through a lot and I love it – without music I don't know where I'd be,” she said.

Zachary Scott fell in love with dance when he used to sit and watch his mother at ballroom practice.

He has been in every school musical since Year 8.

The Year 11 Rockhampton High School student will be playing Ryan, one of the lead roles for High School Musical.

Trained in jazz and ballet, as well as teaching hip-hop, Zachary wants to make dancing his career.

“I just want to dance, that's all I want.”

Gyprocker by day, Levi Burrows saw Discovered as another opportunity to show off his singing voice.

“I really like Michael Buble; I perform a lot of his songs.”

Anyone who does an audition will be able to perform at the Rockhampton Show next month.
