Cheap train ride lands woman in court

A WOMAN was fined $250 and ordered to pay $264 restitution in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on December 9 after she presented a false pension card to Queensland Rail staff.

Sasha Tomich pleaded guilty to one count of imposition after she purchased a discounted train ticket for the 1100km trip between Brisbane to Proserpine with a friend's pension card on June 3 this year.

The court heard Tomich only paid $25 for the $289 fare.
